Here in classifieds is a Kowa TSN 883 with the 20-60 eye piece. I have had my eyes on a new meopta with the 20-70 eye piece.

Of these two which has the best clarity and which would you choose and why?

Thanks in advance.

I don't own either but in reviews I've read lately the Kowa seems to be the gold standard. The hensoldt spotter 60 is excellent also and some of the best DOF so bullet trace should be outstanding. The price is up there for the spotter 60 though at approx 4500. Mil reticle also if I recall.

Seems that the diascope, swarovski, and Leica were also right up there close to the kowa. Kowa perhaps leading the field on resolution. I saw this info on a review link here at the hide if I remember correctly.

If your point of concern is one has higher mag im not sure if you should worry about it.

I have a Kowa with 20-60 eye and I find that atmosphere limits my magnification (Northeast). Winter is better for going full mag. If you live somewhere dry/cool you might be able to use that extra 10X. If not....dont concern yourself with the higher mag as 60 will probably be fine.

Sorry cant comment on difference in mechanicals. I like my Kowa. I do get a purple ring where the target black meets the cream paper. It can sometimes hide a shot hole but I shouldnt be hitting there anyway.
