Sidearms & Scatterguns Help with old Webley revolver

I'm looking for a a little help identifying this old Webley revolver. Not sure if this is the right spot to post, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I pretty bog standard .455 Webley break action. Does not look like it was converted to .45 acp, which a lot of them were in Ww2.

If I had to guess, I would say that is a commercial finish as it is way too nice for even a WW1 issue .455. The number on the trigger guard may be a serial number or might be a rack number. I’ve seen numbers like that on Constabulary guns before.

Nice Piece, btw! Those are getting quite valuable, even though quirky. Many destroyed by gun grabbing British politicians who rounded up every handgun in England over the past decades.

Two other things now that the full gun picture is opening. Grips are almost certainly home-made. It should have hard rubber/Bakelite birds head grips.

And if you are looking to sell it, I have a buddy who really wants a birdshead 455.
