HELP With Surefire SOCOM Suppressor Mount

Not supposed to be a gap other than that left when FH bottoms out against bbl shoulder/shims. Should be timed w/ shims and torqued to 20 ft lbs. Possible it's bottomed out on inside but looks more like it was just lined up and Rocksett allowed to set. Also not good as it will loosen.

I wish I could go look at mine right now to see if it's different but It doesn't have a lot of washers to time it. It's been tight and shot quite a bit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the barrel threads are cut perfect and the FH is timed perfect when torqued; are the washers even needed?

In that case no. Above looks like base of FH is not touching the bbl shoulder. If it is and/or there's actually a shim or two in there it should be fine. Also assume OP is not referring to gap between flange and barrel shoulder (which obviously has to be there).

Looks like it's shimmed so should be fine. The .2+" gap is just an artifact of how the FH is made. Sorry, I thought you had a gap between the bbl shoulder and the base of the FH.

See attached photos, my gunsmith installed this flash hider / mount. I assume the gap here is just an aesthetic issue? Anyway to install this without the gap?

Looks absolutely fine, the gap you see is attributed to the diameter of your barrel. If it was more in line with an AR barrel profile that matched up to the flash hider you wouldn't even notice it. Yes, it's purely aesthetics.
