Rifle Scopes Hensoldt, ARD or Sunshade

Hi, I'm about to order a Hensoldt scope. I see that both a screw on ARD and a screw on sunshade is available.

Can the ARD be mounted into the sunshade so that I have both a sunshade and an ARD ?

Would I have to buy a screw on sunshade and a clampable ARD to make this work ?

Is the ARD long enough to also work as a sunshade ??

Hi,

you can screw the ARD in front of the sunshade, but not vice versa. Or you can screw multible sunshades in fron of each oder. A sunshade has a male and a female thread. The ARD has a male thread and the scope has a female thread. All threads are the same size.

I only bought the screwable shade/ARD, because it was cheaper.

The ARD is oversized and kind of clunky, I'd suggest getting a sunshade. I've owned them both and no longer own the ARD.

I am using the eyeeguard and the sunshade.
Sunshade ALWAYS, eyeguard during night hunting and a lot of other hunting too as its great protection for the lenses from rain.

I don't use ARD as its steals to much light.

Is butler creek needed when you use the sunguard and eye piece ?

Is the eye guard just rubber? Is there anything more to it than that? Where I am it is very dusty so I'm tempted to purchase it to protect the lens. Is it worth the $90 do you think?
