Does anyone actually use one of these at work, or possibly owns one? I am having a hard time finding any real review's.

Looking for a good spotter like this that isn't $5000 and operates close to this spotter in respect. Waterproof, ruggid, quality glass that doesn't weigh to much.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Thank you very much.
Respectfully,

Re: Hensoldt Spotter

You're not going to get anything that closely matches the Zeiss spotter for less than that with the exception of the Leica. The Leica will give you all the optics and then some, it doesn't have the waterproof ruggedness of the Zeiss. If you're not going to be dropping and dragging it or shooting in the rain, look at the Leica.

Re: Hensoldt Spotter

If your a retard like me, and capable of breaking just about anything....the Henny is for you. In my opinion nothing else compares, but if you don't have the budget for it...just get the Vortex HD its a great spotter also.

Re: Hensoldt Spotter

Yeah, it's hard to justify cost-wise to many, but if you spend a significant amount time behind a spotter, you'll be glad you spent the money on one. Now if only there were more versatile reticle options for them...

Re: Hensoldt Spotter

the cost is high, but it's a tremendous scope. it's compact and light, has a reticle and you can still adjustable magnification, that isn't something you get with all spotters. another thing is illumination, i can't think of another spotter that has that feature off the top of my head. i've put this scope side by side with zeiss and swarovski 80mm spotters and i find it to be significantly better optically.

lets just say you won't kick yourself for investing in one

Re: Hensoldt Spotter

Having had the pleasure of looking through one I can tell you it is a pleasure.

I have a Leupold 65145 MK4 12-40X60 Black Armor P4 (reticle) spotter which works well, but doesn't come near the Hensoldt's optical excellence.

I am waiting for this to show up at Promotive.com for mil discounts.... and hope I have enough cash.

FYI, if you are in the military, ZEISS is offering their optics in promotive. So if you like ZEISS, sign up.

Ewen ,

the tripod is the TACT-3 made by Vectronix in Switzerland , on top of it there is an Ashbury TIM ( tactical interface mount ) that allows the Spotter60 , PLRF10 & IR pointer/illuminator to go coaxial ,
