From my 1st post here which was asking about a sniper rifle to getting torn apart cuz of usage to countless hours or research and review to arguing with the lady about being compared to a fb addict (being on the forums all the time) I think I'm pretty much done! I def need a cheek riser though, without one, I'm way off.

Remington 700 Long action (.30-06) with ADL barrel (for now)
B&C A2 stock
Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50
Warne 34mm Maxima rings (waiting on them actually, you can see the scope is just resting on there for the sake of the pic)
Wyatt's DBM kit (that is a HUGE 10 round magazine!!! I might need to order a 5 rounder as well lol) note: mags are pita to load.
TPS 20moa steel base
UTG bipod (yeah I know... I had it laying around from before the transformation, it does the job for now)
Holland spring kit (trigger is just under 2 lbs)

I'll be getting a Rock Creek 5R barrel for it (24") and getting the action trued in the next few months. for now I'll shoot it with the current barrel and get used to it. see how well I can do on that stock barrel and non trued action. the gunsmith is on a few month wait anyways. I'm in line

I usually take my pics on that table. I had couple people PM me asking me where we had gotten it from. mother in law has the coffee table. lol

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

What are your thoughts of the glass on that Bushnell? How clear is it? How far away was that street lamp?

It's very beefy. it's meant to take abuse and be fine.

glass is clear. at 21x, it isn't as crisp at say 15.

that lamp isn't too far, about 200 yards maybe? seems to be abotu 7 mils wide if you wanna figure it out. lol

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

Very nice transformation!

What caliber are you going with when you rebarrel? Same? If you are thinking of something different look at the .284 Winchester or .280 Remington. Just a thought!

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

Congrats. I just put a Wyatt DMB on a rifle and ordered two 10 rounders. When I got them in I had to trade one for a 5 round. lol. Yea they are biggins. Work well tho

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

Are you going to keep it in 30-06, or are you going to change it to a 300wm or other LA cal?

Looks great though. Go out and shoot.

Just razzin ya, but seriously... lookin good </div></div>

JB Weld and rubber bands FTW!

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

Haha, I like these replies more!

I'm probably gonna keep it in the same caliber. I considered .300wm, but the thing is I want a better barrel life. Perhaps 6.5 but that eats barrels too.

The -06 seemed to fit the 1000 yard and barrel life goal that I had in mind.

Haven't looked at .2xx calibers tho. I want something that can be useful for a surf situation as all my guns I get have that in mind.

For the person asking, the HdMR was only 850 with active military qualification. They're supposed to be between 1300-1600 when released to public

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

for a well performing long action cartridge that won't bust the bank, check out the 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. Long neck, good barrel life, lots of commercial and surplus ammo around. Far cheaper to shoot than the magnum calibers. Reaches to 1000 yards very well.

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

I don't think that the 30-06 is bad at all. The only mark against it compared to the .308 is lesser availability of different factory match ammunitions to try. If you're going to reload I don't see how it would be a problem at all.

That's the plan. I probably won't even shoot it reguarly until I get the reloading kit in a couple months.
