Sure, I'll put something interesting in the hat. The Signal-to-Noise + Resolution enthusiasts really need to check out the ITT Excelis SENVG. This is the new, dual-band, fused imaging monocular currently being deployed to the Army.
EVERYTIME I look through them, I remark "Wow, just WOW!" The sharpness and clarity of the details in the image are stunning. For the intensifier, the S2N minimum range <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">begins</span></span> at 29, so you know the mean is really "up there!"
I say "them" as I couldn't help myself and brought home a pair, to experiment with as makeshift "goggles." I just finished ... uhm ... experimenting (yeah, that's the word) ... with them for the evening. LOL
These cold nights are great for maximizing performance ... one gains ultra low EBI on the intensifier(s) and improved sensitivity on the thermal core(s). Positive correlation at its best!
