I'm outfitting a plate carrier and looking for a belt/suspender rig too. Is HSGI the best for this? if so, where does a guy get the best deal on that stuff?

    Thanks for the help!!

HSG is top knotch stuff......if you can afford it, you wont be disappointed......especially their battle belts.

im personally not a fan of their Taco pouches....ive run them a bit and they always feel a bit floppy and unsecure.

personally what i do is spend good money for the stuff that touches my body (IE. belt/ carrier/ ect.) and for pouches, i just run condor pouches....been running condor stuff for years and never had an issue.

I picked up a nice LBT 6094 from a hide member, and am looking at HSGI for the belt and other gear. I like that you can go from ar10 mags to ar15 mags in the tacos but with that goes the potential insecurity I guess. And I like the open-top designJust tighten the crap out of those ropes I guess. I ordered some condor pouches to test the quality, so we'll see how that goes.

I'm currently running an HSGI slotted slim grip belt with a 1.75" HSGI riggers belt. It's an outstanding piece of kit. I'm running Esstac mag pouches (dual pistol magazine and a M4 shorty), IFAK, M9 w/ holster, BFG dump pouch, and two TT multitool pouches. It distributes weight very well and holds everything in place.

So you prefer the slotted belt bc it allows the use of both belt and molle attached accessories? Is there enough molle real estate on the left front for mag pouches?

I think I ordered a large slotted belt and it has 18 columns of MOLLE webbing. It holds everything I need.

I went with the slotted belt because I couldn't find a MOLLE compatible holster that I liked. The regular, non-slotted belt will get you more MOLLE real estate if you don't need to hang anything off a belt.

I'm running a Ronin Tactics belt. It's worth every penny. Got all my hsgi stuff from skd tactical. They usually do a good sale on holidays.

You like the short vs the long m4 pouch? I'm looking at their triple pouch with pistol mag combo. How do you like the kydex retention?

I run a padded HSGI battle belt with the BFG suspenders (they're the slimmest I could find and the're awesome). Kestrel pouch and 2 rifle mag pouches on the left (with one of those flat stretchy bfg double pistol mag pouches doubled up on the rear rifle mag pouch) and G-Code adapter for holster and pouch for LRF on the right. I really like that setup. Not really necessary for PRS matches but great for field matches.

The HSGI belt has 3 rows of MOLLE so I went with the short magazine pouches to keep the overhang to a minimum.

Retention is very good. I'm not jumping out of planes, but they do a good job jumping out of Humvees.

I use the HSGI Suregrip belt & a1.5" rigger's belt w/ cobra buckle. I run a Safariland ALS/SLS holster. As for Molle attachments, I've mounted a pair of Emerson FastMags (pistol), a single Emerson rifle FastMag, a pair of HSGI cuff cases, a Tactical Tailor radio pouch & an HSGI dump pouch. I wear this many hours every week. It's very comfortable even in a vehicle. I wear this set up to work & to a few comps. No issues. It does get a bit warm at times around the mid-section. Other than that, I've got probably $400 invested. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the heads up on the SKD holiday discount. Girlfriend hooked me up with the sure grip belt, cobra riggers belt, suspenders, and all HSGI pouches for it and my PC. Got my safariland DFA on the way with a couple ALS holsters on the way. I'm super excited to get it all and get it set up!

Overall, I like HSGI stuff. I have a sure-grip padded battle belt that has functioned and held up great. I also run a variety of their pouches and have been very pleased. The TACO pouches work well, but if you plan to do any crawling, or moving through thick woods, you may want to consider pouches that have covers and can be secured.
