I seem to be having a problem on both of my rifles. They are both in HS precision stocks. When tightened down should the box magazine have some play in it? Mine are very tight. One of the floor plates are flush behind the trigger guard, and about 8mm high in the front. I am having feeding problems in both, scratched brass, and scuffs on bullets. When they were in ADL stocks this did not happen just when I changed to hinge floor plate the problem occured. One rifle is brand new, the other about 100 rounds through. Need some help.

Re: Hinged floor plate problems!

Are you using the same magazine box from when they were ADL? If so, that is your problem. ADL boxes are longer than BDL versions. You will either need BDL boxes, or you can file/grind/mill the bottom of your mag boxes down. There should be a little play - a mag box tightly bound can cause accuracy issues.

Also, you might want to polish the underside of your rails with a fine stone or some emory cloth - that should help the scratch brass/bullet issues.

This is likely your problem unless you got BDL boxes.
