Kicking Ass Somewhere
Reloaded 700 rounds between last night and today, have 300 rounds of SWAMMO left to shoot. Will be a full day of 308, lots of Amaxes and Vrget going down range. Will be shooting the Remmy 700 308 with the new muzzle brake, the LR 308 and the M1A. The M1a gets about 400 rounds of 150 GR FMJ pushed by Varget. Trying to use up all my 168 grn 308 bullets, switching over to 175 grn for the 308 in the future, Have my savage 5 r coming back from savage, am converting the Remmy over to Rem 260 when my barrel prefit gets here from Rock Creek. The Remmy and 10 FP are just under MOA with 168s, they both do well under MOA with 175's. I am pretty excited because this the first time I am hooting my reloads that I used the RCBS charge master to powder measure, I double checked teh measure every 5 rounds on my other electronic scale, largest difference was a tenth of a grain. I think it will be a good day tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to the club I just joined to run a ladder on 3 different rifles.
Of course I got there too late as 2 friends were tying up the benches at the 100-400 yard range, since I wanted to use 300 yards (something I can't do at my other club). Note that they had stuff piled on the benches in both lanes but were just standing around talking, no ear protection.
I approached one guy to see how long they would be and he didn't seem too friendly. I indicated I needed 300 yards to run my ladders. He didn't know what a ladder was. Dealing with unfriendly people when we are all armed is not my strong suit so I went to the 100-200 yard range and ran my ladders at 200. I think I got meaningful results. In the 2 hours I was there they fired 10 shots or less between the 2 of them.

Members of club #1 are all friendly and accommodating, even when it's crowded. Next time I head up to club #2, I'll just go up during the week.

Jerry, sorry your day of fun got messed up.

Joe

I dont think I ever ran into a bad person at a range, not even in NJ where I grew up an got hooked into this money trap we call a hobby. Yeah missed out today but reloading some 260, 223n ans 300 winmag, will probably have the range to myself during the week, no biggie.

My RCBS chargemaster was a huge upgrade in consistency for me. Was using a cheap digital scale (that I was never too happy with), RCBS beam scale (which was good), but the chargemaster is sweet. I'm sure youll be happy with the results.
