I live in Northern Alabama, near Huntsville. I've just recently moved here, so I'm clueless about where to go hunting for hogs.

After looking into some of the hunting clubs that organize trips, I've decided to avoid them, as they charge so much money it wouldn't be worth it for me. $300 for two days access to their land and $1.50 (or something like that) per pound on every hog taken just isn't economical for me.

Soooo, where does one go round these parts to take down some hogs without having to sell a kidney first?

Unless you can find some public land with pigs on it, (Hint- Pigs really REALLY like crop land...) $300 + $1.50/lb is not that bad. I have seen hog hunts advertized for as much as $1000 + trophy fee. You might be able to find a farmer that has a problem... Driving around and knocking on doors does work, sometimes.
