Holster recommendations for backup gun

A LEO friend of mine is going to carry a Kahr PM9 as a backup gun on duty.

I'd like a few suggestions of types of holsters anyone here may have used that <span style="text-decoration: underline">worked for them </span>for that purpose.

IE where you preferred to have the backup and what type of holster you liked.

Everyone is different and "one size <span style="text-decoration: underline">does not </span>fit all". At 6'4" and 280 lbs, I wear a Fobus Ankle Rig with a G27 and also use a Ankle Stablizer on the other ankle that carries spare mag, handcuffs and a small can of pepper. I'm able to comfortably wear this all week and sometimes most of the weekend. He (or you) should have enough friends around with all the various concealment holsters to test drive before spending hard earned money.

I'm not a cop, so no experience on wanting to carry a backup gun but I've carried plenty both openly and concealed.

He does not have any buds carrying a secondary. guess he's the only one doing it for whatever reason.

Obviously one size does not fit all. That's why I wanted to get a gauge and see what brands guys are using and places they prefer to have the secondary.

He is leaning towards an ankle holster.

At 6'4" 280 you can carry a rifle in an ankle holster, lol

If you wear a vest, holster inside it works well for backup. I have a PM9, and it's light/small/thin enough to carry in about any type of holster comfortably, just your preference. Also will depend on where you carry your primary pistol.

The Renegade "Cozy Partner" is one fantastic ankle holster. I carried my G27 for a number of years. Could run, jog, all sorts of stuff and was very secure and comfortable. Took me about 2-3 days to get used to it being there. Wore a sport sock underneath then my regular socks of the day to cover it so that if pant leg somehow hiked up the sock covered the holster another 3-6". To my knowledge, I never got made. American Handgunner mag gave it a BIG thumbs up a number of years back.
