Home made scope leveling jig....

Assuming your scope manufacturer certifies that the flat bottom area is parallel to the horizontal reticle line (and most do):

Just set the scope slightly loose in the rings, put a metal ruler leaned forward in a slot of the pic rail, and attempt to tilt it vertical, simultaneously contacting the flat bottom of the scope turret area with the upper surface of the ruler, and the flat surface of the pic rail with the bottom surface of the ruler. It will true the scope to the pic rail, then lock it down.

It's now mechanically squared to the pic rail.

Done. Go shoot.
That’s simple, but I just spent five minutes wondering what a “pic rail” was.Proper terminology is very important!!,I also stopped by Harbor freight for all these little levels and clamps….I always did it by eye before but I need to make this rifle perfect for long range so I wanted to do it right and also as cheap as possible.the set at Dicks was 29.99 to much for my cheap @$$ self( basically just 2 small levels) Harbor fright .levels .1.99.2 cheap clamps .89 2 bigger clamps 1.99 something to work with anyway..and you shot it right down.wow…how does that make you feel? Superior?..
as said it may not work for all but for my present job perfect, i actually leveled it the other day with levels but I have wanted a perfect way for a long time,by eye always worked for me ,but Time consuming and maybe not perfect ,but, for most shots here 50-100 yds maybe a little more for a unusual shot .Well fargo007 thanks..You learn something everyday wether you want to or not.
