I went out to the farm today and scouted out a new location to shoot. As near as I can mil and confirm with Google maps it's right at 1000 yds. The bad news is that it takes about 20 minutes to drive from the firing point to the target.
The view from the firing point to the target. I circled the target area in red.
Through the spotting scope.
From the NF at 22 with MOAR reticle. I was holding up to 5 moa into the wind. The wind was really gusty today and I would often miss the target and watch the bullet strike right where the crosshairs were aimed.
I forgot to take a pic of my gun, but here's an older pic. R700 308 with K&P barrel and MCM A2 stock. Work done by Roger Ferrell from Fayetteville, GA.
The target is 18 " diamond plate.
At the target, looking back to the firing point. All the dead trees are from a tornado a couple of years ago. It blasted right through our place.
