Yes it is, cops are cops, federal or otherwise. Most, not all, don't care. I shoot a lot of pistol competition, very few cops show up. I've found the ones that do, local cops are normally better then Feds.
FBI is the best example, compaired to local or non feds, the are no better then anyone else. Acutally I believe local cops out shot the feds on the whole.
My son in a DHS Cop, and is one of their firearms instructors. We comapair notes constantly on firearms training. Nothing he brings to the table disputs my opinion.
Though the CG is part of DHS now, I still consider them military. I haven't delt with them since I retired, but it was part of my job firearms training them as well as the navy, NG, ANG an Army. Like other branches of service, some can shoot, some can't. Some care, some don't.
Regardless, Civil LE, Military, Feds and DHS, Coast Guard or who ever, some care, some don't. I think the majority don't.
Same with civilian Conceal Carry people, some care and are quite good, some don't and cant shoot.
Being military, LE, Civ or Feds, doen't automaticly make you a shooter. The ones who care and work at it are the ones that make shooters.
Same with hunters, you'll find some who shoot year around, but the majority you'll only see at the range on "sight in days".
