I ordered a White Oak Armament 18" (1 in 7" twist) varmint upper with full length fluting to put on top of my Colt LE6920 M4 with a Geissele SSA-E trigger. I'm hoping it will shoot like this or better with my reloads.

Your going to shoot that at 1000 yards. With your bubble level?

Yes I'll try and see what happens. I used to use 80 gr. Sierra HPBTs single fed with my Bushmaster DCM years ago. Now I'd like to try 75 or 77 grain bullets loaded to magazine length. Some times when there is a lull in the wind you can get your 5 shots off as fast as possible and hopefully get smaller groups. The bubble level should help a lot also. Anyway it will be fun to see what I can accomplish. If High Power guys do it with out the use of scopes I don't see why I can't have fun trying with a scope.

I would have got a 24" And shot 77SMK @ 2850 with R15 and 2900 with AA2520 or Tac.? Hope it works for you.

Just for shooting 1,000 yds. your suggestion would be better, but I will only have one AR and I want to keep the weight down because I will be toting it around when hunting.I'm almost 69 and things are heavier than they used to be. My long range bolt gun for hunting weighs 14.5 pounds and that weight is getting old.

I guess most of the guys here like to do a lot of different types of shooting, but I played some of those games when I was younger. Now I enjoy trying some long range stuff and love to sit in my stands hunting deer. I killed 2 bucks and a doe with my new Colt M4, but I have always liked to shoot bug holes.

Just a suggestion, but while the Vltor is a nice buttstock, you'll be able to place your eye at a more effective height with that scope, along w/ gaining a more consistent cheekweld, w/ something like the RISR cheekpiece on a CTR if you going to run a collapsible on a precision/varmit rig. On mine, I found the RISR eliminated the tendency to head-bob (up or down) in order to get a full view in the particular scope I'm using (2.5-10x Vortex PST).

Asome 69 and still killing and grilling

I installed the new Nikon rings on my Colt M4. I had to turn the rear one around because the knob for adjusting the zoom would touch the base which would go under it. I also had to remove the rear sight to give the scope clearance.

The scope is a little lower, but after I get used to the height it will be usable. Now I can see the B-Square bubble level better so I won't need to get the Xtreme Level.
