Just have to say, what you are doing, @THEIS, is amazing. Being new (3 years) to long-range shooting, I am really enjoying watching your company start and seeing how driven you are to create a superior product. It is impressive, to say the least. I am sure there are frustrations, setbacks, and unexpected surprises that happen, but in the end you will have something of which you can be indescribably proud. Well done, brother.

Hi,

LOLOL, Thanks....I have dropped the ball on updating the forum!!

Lots of moving pieces have been going on here at Hoplite Arms.

Setting up the Louisiana Corporation.

Merging the Texas Corporation into it.

Now impatiently waiting for BATFE to schedule inspection/audit for change of FFL address to the Enon Louisiana location. (@ccasanova What hunting lease do I need to join to have access to the power/gas lines on the other side of the river on 437?)

Then as soon as BATFE has completed that; I can transition the insurance policies over because we damn sure cannot send anything out the doors without that in place. (Thanks Corporate USA ambulance chasers)

Move every damn thing under the sun....(Hence one of the reasons for on hand inventory).

Dissolving the Texas Corporation after the BATFE address change.

Acquisition of manufacturing rights of a different chassis design :) :) :) You all should be very pleased with this!!!

New designed extractors should be coming off machines around March 12, alloy arrives back from heat treatment today so we can finally get progress/closure on those designs so we can get them into the actions on hand and ship the damn independent testing units out!! I was almost bald to begin with, now I make Mr. Clean look like he has a Joe Dirt mullet.....

On the marketing bright side, lol...... There is only going to be 20 Kopis and 20 Aspis available to the public with Houston Texas engraved on them...

Sincerely,
Theis

I’m hoping (and assuming since mdt) they make a vertical grip skin for the jae.

That was the only thing I’d have like to see added to a jae.

100% with you on that, that's my only critique of that chassis. I'll be shooting with @MDT_Josh in April/May for Jake Vibberts train-up and NRL match. I'm going to try my damndest to have MDT make one.

And mlok sides to attach weights. And weighted buttstock spacers

I'm not aware of any weight LOP spacers. What would be even better is a weighted bag rider.

Ha i dont mean to put more on your plate, already looking like the system is going to be amazing.

The kmw stock will be awesome, and the in house job will be top notch as well.

I just know i lust hard after the Jae after having one in my hands.

Hi,

Well I like challenges and transparency.........
@MDT_Josh
I have all the receiver drawings, lol....lets talk.

Theis

Hey @THEIS ,

Always interested in adding new inlets if there is demand from users :) Shoot me an email at [email protected] and I will get you in contact with our sales team here. I am not sure we're in the position to add inlets to the JAE at this time, but we can always look at inletting one of the MDT chassis right now and maybe the JAE later.

Hi,

LOLOL I could make bottle opener on a mini picatinny rail rather easily.

Sincerely,
Theis

Why stop at that?, You could make an Emergency Survival compartment on the stock as well, perhaps stock it with a full set of the kind of mini tools these guys make: https://grimworkshop.com/

Somewhat useless and tacky, but useless, tacky and gimmicky seem to sell HA!

Why stop at that?, You could make an Emergency Survival compartment on the stock as well with a screw on top as to not break the cork stopper
I tell you, I’ve always thought a spare 5rd mag, stuck inside the butt stock would be a good thing to have...
I like that. With a mag release lever and maybe a little spring tension to aid the mag removal.

Hi,

You guys are killing me, lolol....

Next thing you all are going to be wanting an ocular scope attachment that projects/superimposes a new aiming solution onto your scope lens so that you do not have to dial the turrets; you just us the superimposed dot as aiming reference because it is automated to provide new solution based off your mechanical scope zero and the ballistics application "calls".

Sincerely,
Theis

Well actually a daylight bright 1 or 2 Moa red dot would be pretty cool for something like a S&B 3-20 US, or any other FFP with a large mag range and fine reticle.

A SFP illuminated dot and crosshairs with superimposed fine FFP grid seems like it would be very hard to screw up, and more useful than 99% of the reticles out there.
So, you would combine SFP and FFP in one scope? Do you realize what it is you are proposing? It sounds easy enough to write, but it defies the physics of affordable scope making.

At the same time, FFP scopes with reticles that Do offer this type of flexibility are generally panned and don’t sell that well. Examples are the Bushnell LRHSi with the 2 moa “circle of death” and the similar Optika reticle that Ilya designed. Great hunting scopes at both high and low powers, but not as well received as you would think.

Bushnell ended up clearing theirs out through Georgia Precision for much less than they should have sold. I regret not having enough spare cash to pick up two of them then, but I do have one and love it for that purpose. I’m not sure how well the Optika is selling, but many people panned that reticle when it was introduced.
