Sorry if this has been covered, does anyone know WTF is going on with these bullets in terms of inventory? Cant find them anywhere reasonable...onesy-twosey here and there.

It doesn't take much in hindsight to to assume that the new bullets they released, 147-130, etc, probably took over some of the production schedules from the 140. What do I know though.

I am curious more than anything as I am dangerously close and may switch off these once and for all.

    thanks!

The 140 ELDs are coming. Been told in the next couple weeks. Get on a back order list so you can make sure to get them. Hornady is pretty much running the 140 ELD-M constantly now to keep up with the high demand. They see it and are trying to get them out to everyone.

Excellent, this is good news. I am running low myself. Bought a large quantity of Scenar 139's to try so I didn't dig into what 140 ELD's that I had left... pleasantly surprised with the results using the exact same charge.

This is exactly why I've been buying up all of the 140gr AMAX that I see pop up, I think I've got 800-900 and just sent out another MO for another 400. Plus I'm getting them for $0.18-$0.20 each which is far cheaper than the $33/box Hornady is now charging for that sweet new heat resistant tip.

I have never had any problems shooting good groups at 1000 yards with the 140 AMAX so I think I'll keep shooting them until there are no more.

Been getting good results with the Nosler RDF 140 and IMR4451. Check the out, you might be surprised by the results.

Glad to hear it. I just ordered some of the RDF's since I can't find the Hornadays. I am also using IMR4451 because H4350 is impossible to find.
    What load are you running?

It's not just the 140s. I can't find the 147s in stock anywhere either. Like many others, I picked up some 140 rdfs... and now those are also on back order. Pretty clear sign that the 6.5s have gained a lot in popularity.

They're cheap, and with the recent trend in everyone buying 6.5creedmoors they're every new shooters go-to. Hell, my brother started shooting last summer and the 140gr ELD-M is what he shoots! I've been trying to bring him over to Berger to no avail.

So I apologize for hijacking the thread but what G7 y'all running in your Kestrels for these 140 ELD-M's. I have seen conflicting numbers on threads here and the published .326 doesn't seem to line up for me.

I'm just did my first tests with the 140 rdf and h4350. Like most of y'all I've been shooting the eld-m but aren't running too awful low yet just wanted to give these a try. I ran the same load as I am with the eld. 42.8 of h4350 in prime brass and br2 primers. I had been hearing the rdf liked to jump and usually around .030 I started at .020 then .025 , .030, and finally .035. The gun hated the first three shot all three in about 1 inch to 1.25 inch groups I was getting discouraged till the last load of .035 jump and it tightened right up to about .25 inch group I've got some more to try again tomorrow and shoot at 300 against the eld-ms and see if I want to make the jump or not

Thanks Matt, I'm curious where you end up.

Guys, here is the deal with issues with this shortage. I'm one that can't get to reloads due to work and family. I need an option for shooting factory ammo.

I've chosen to go with the Prime stuff, which uses Norma Diamond Line in 130. Purchased several boxes of it and if my guns like it, I will develop a load.

Thanks for the insight on 4451 will work up a load with that too.

i ran a bunch of tests with the rdf...not to derail but they would flat out not shoot in my 47 at all. these things want big jumo and with my fb it put too much into the powder column. in my creedmoor with .199fb i ran the rdf at my standard 42.8 charge and .050 off jump and they hammer a tiny bughole but anything other than that they were a 2moa shotgun at best.

eld shoot everytime in all my guns with .020 off jump. bugholes

Damn, I thought that my test taking them from touching out to .025 would have been enough. I may have to test from .03-.08 off in .01 increments next. That would also solve the issue of them wanting to be too tall to fit in my ammo boxes which would be nice to resolve.

I've had to switch to Bergers lately due to Hornady production not being able to keep up. I can find Bergers damn near everywhere. They even out-shoot my old Amax load.

Thanks Matt, I'm curious where you end up.

i ended up ordering a box of the 500 rdf. My dad stayed on me to try them touching and they both shot about 1/4 inch either touching or .35 off but anywhere in between that the gun does not like at all. They outshot my eld-m at 300 as well with the eld shooting 1.5-1.75 inch groups (shot 2 5 shot groups of each) and the rdf shooting .75-1 inch. Haven't been past 300 with the rdf yet but it looks promising. I just sold my scope so I'm having to wait on my new one to get here before I can do any other testing

yeah, I just ordered some from midway. I think with the release of the 6.5 creed lapua brass and how well they shoot, people just bought as many as they could. the 6.5 creed is also gaining popularity in factory hunting rifles, and therefor more manufactures are starting to load for it (federal). that's also why you wont see much h4350 out there. federal has bought a metric shit ton to load with, which means it just won't be around. but, it looks like the 140s are starting to come back, so that's good. but I would start to work up loads with rl16 and the like as a h4350 replacement unless you have enough to shoot out your barrel

So it goes. Figure out something that works well for you then post it up and everybody and their brothers and cousins buy it all up and you are out there with no place to buy the "neat" stuff.
H4350, lots of luck with that, IMR4350, same same, lots of luck with that too. 140 ELD-M, where the fuck do you find them?
What a hassle, What do you do other than get frustrated? FM
