Hornady 178bthp in ar308

I've worked up a 168gr amax load for my MATEN w/ an 18.5" Fulton chrome lined barrel. I've been thinking of moving up to the 178 bthp since the BC is significantly better.

Anyone have experience shooting this bullet out of a similar platform? Will I really be able to realize the accuracy of this bullet out of a chrome lined barrel?

If your 168gr load is shooting well then you will see a benefit moving to a higher BC bullet. Flatter trajectory and better wind bucking can only improve results at range.

Now if you are only getting 2-3+ MOA out of your 168 gr load then it may not be worth it regardless.

I have this question as well. Anyone with good load data for the Hornady 178 BTHP?

Hornady Supermatch 178 is getting amazing reviews. I hope to try some.

I sm using the 178 Gr BTHP out of My KAC SR 25

.308 Winchester Brass Trimmed 2.005
CCI BR 2 Primer
46 Gr Alliant PP 2000MR
178 GR BTHP
2.810 COAL

This load is netting one hole at 100 yds so I am ecstatic.
