Hey guys,

I'm thinking of snagging another press to dedicate to precision rifle loading. The Hornady LNL Classic has caught my eye due to the swappable bushings, but I'm wondering if they lock into the press well enough to offer maximum precision. Also, whether the bushings remove and re-install with enough precision that I would not have to re-set the dies. Does anyone have experience using Hornady's bushing system and loading for precision rifles? I would appreciate any experience/insights.

Thanks!

My 308 shoots to less than 1/3 of an inch, and my 243 is under 1/2 (but I'm still working up the load on that one). You can't beat the LNL classic for changing dies.

Some bushings fit better than others. I bought a bunch of bushings and picked out the tightest fitting for my single stage to go on the f/l sizer and seaters on the precision loads. All in all I am happy with it and makes ammo for my .260 that shoots in the high .1s

I have hornady's lock and load presses and love them. However.. if I was doing it
today, a forster coaxial is a way better press , the dies change as quick with no
bushings to buy and no shell plates. The shell holder system gets a way better
grip on the case and free floats for perfect alignment. Check into then.

I love my Hornady 007 press. The bushings work great. However I have to agree that the Coaxial press is a better design because it doesn't use bushings. On the other hand I like the Hornady priming system better.
