I'm trying to figure out witch seating stem to use for the Hornady 73 ELDM They list one for the 75/80/88/90 and the same for the A-Max pills. What are you all finding works to seat these damn things? Also need to get the seating die. Midsouth has one for 28.00 but it says it is for the .223, .222 as well as several other .224 cal rounds. Is that the right one?

That's the universal .224 seating die I have one in .30 cal.
You would be best served getting the Hornady custom grade .223 rem since it has the floating sleave for the bullet and case for better alignment if your dead set on hornady.

I'm open to any suggestions to load these. If there is a better die, I'm interested.

I need to load the 73 ELDM
There shouldn't be that much of a difference considering the ogive and nose profile of the 73eldm is still considered compatible with mag length AR loads.
The easiest solution if your not sure is pull the seating stem and place a bullet in it to verify it is fully contacting the bullet surface and fully supported and not bottoming out on the tip instead or just call Hornady to verify.

I’ve used a Lee seater with 73s, 75s, 75 BTHPs and 88s, no issues.
The 73s and 75 BTHPs would probably be ok in a non VLD type stem but I’d just get a VLD stem, likely more future proof.

I prefer Redding dies, the only Hornady dies I’ve used were for a 300blk I had, I can’t remember why but I hated the seating die.
Lee for cheap dies or Redding is where I’ve ended up.
