This Test & Evaluation is not an endorsement of Horus products.

The test was conducted at Crane Special Weapons Assessment Facility (SWAF), as an objective comparison to mission specifc requirements for urban operations.

Your feed back on this white paper would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Re: Horus Blackbird T&E, Crane SWAF

For me the Horus ret. was never the issue with the system, It’s the quality of the glass they sell that fails. You can buy one of their scopes for what you pay to have the ret installed in a real scope.
CS also sucks when the stuff breaks, plus they don't seem to care if they sell you anything or not.

$4-500.00 for a ret. and then have it installed.......Really?
And they think they have patented the Mil system of aiming, I’m glad they didn’t think of the ruler.

But that’s just me.... I love the ret. but I guess I will never own one.

If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. Here are comments by a former Blackbird owner. It surprises me when an otherwise good product has obvious design issues that could have been mitigated or even fixed before it went into production. The most serious fault is that the reticle is not useable at magnifications less than 8x, according to the reviewer. Another fault is that the illumination is barely useful on the highest setting and not useful at lower ones - this could have been prevented in the design.
