Does anyone have any experience with Horus Vision rifle scopes? Saw them and they are priced reasonably but if they are junk then I don't want one. Any opinions?

Yeah, they're junk. The HDMR they teamed up with Bushnell on is pretty good for the money, but the rest of their Horus line is very much low end. You can find their newer reticles in scopes from higher quality manufacturers like Leupold, Nightforce and S&B.

I've got a Horus scope. It is middle of the road as far as glass goes. I love the reticle though, and the fact that it does not matter whether the scope tracks or not. I just use the reticle.
Side note; Leupold used to be licensed to use the Horus reticles, but I got an email response from them a couple weeks ago saying that they no longer will install it in a scope. I guess I'll be looking at buying my first Bushnell.

It matters alright, when the reticle starts bouncing around inside the scope, it wont do you any good.
I have a Horus Hawk with H-25 reticle in it. Have not had any trouble with it. It is lower mid-grade glass compared to my S&B or USO. I only use it out to 300 yards on less expensive rifles, but it only cost me $400 so I have no complaints.
I have read a few responses over the years that say they are junk; however, I have had a Falcon 5-20 with an H37 reticle on my M99 .416 for years and have never had an issue with it. Granted I have other scopes with H37 reticles such as S&B PMII 3-20 but this is not a fair comparison. The Horus has stood up to the recoil of the .416 and still has no issues so I would not categorize them as junk. I would say that in the price range of that particular model (1,200) they are not bad. Does it compare to others in the 3k or 4k range, no.
That completely surprises me and I think you should consider yourself lucky. Over the last 10 years or so I've seen several Horus brand scopes have durability issues when mounted on anything bigger than a .308WIN (which is why I only run one on a .223).
There are a number of others but the majority of responses on scopes usually start with "what's the best scope for the least amount of money". Many may not have 4K to drop on a S&B or 3.5K and are willing to wait for 4-6 months from USO.
I had a Talon 1-4 power scope with their H50 reticle. It was awesome at distances of 200yards or more, with the simplified ranging reticle, it was intuitive and fast for distance. At low power, you could see the ring and use it for close work, which was their intention. But, at 1 power the view through the optic was so blurry around the edges that it was hard to use. Contrast that with the Trijicon 1-4s, which when you look through them on 1 power, it looks like you are looking through an aimpoint - no distortion whatsoever. I sold it to a buddy of mine who is a recreational occasional plinker type shooter and he is happy with it. In summary: Horus reticles are great, Horus scopes-not so great. That's my two cents.
The biggest problem with Horus brand scopes "besides the HDMR" is the warranty. If bought new, you are SOL if it breaks after 1 year. The HDMR is manufactured by Bushnell and is arguably the best bang for the buck in the riflescope industry. If it ever breaks Bushnell will take care of the problem.
I recently bought a S&B with a H-59. Yes it is slightly more refined in many ways but not 2.5 times the price of the HDMR refined IMO. The S&B has 10Y parallax, illume, 13 mil rev per turn and kick ass glass, which were the majority of the features that I wanted. If the HDMR's had illume I would have kept them.

I have four HDMR scopes with the H59 and they rock! Have a S&B with the H59 also and it of course has better glass but I could get 2 HDMR's for one of them.
Both set ups are great with mil/mil controls.
Had a Horus with the H59 a few years ago and hated the turrets. It held up ok, just was not easy to dial anything into the scope.

So as a non professional who will not spend hours or days through the scope, I want a S&B 3 - 20, but I can go with a Bushnell HDMR Elite Tactical Riflescope and get the H59 reticle I want?

it sounds like you guys are talking about 2 different things here. Horus makes reticles that are used on many different brands of scope makers. Horus also makes its own line of scopes. I think the original question was whether the Horus scopes are of good quality, and the answer is they are middle of the road. The reticle is user preference. It seems to be a polarizing reticle on here for some reason. Some love it, others hate it. Its become the Glock of reticles
