Sidearms & Scatterguns Houge grips for a Sig p226?

Had a sweet set of G10s on an X5 tactical a couple yrs ago. I loved them(super aggressive), but the pistol wasn't reliable(even after a trip back to Sig), so I got rid of it. I haven't bought a Sig specific holster since the 90s & just used the holsters I had on hand for my USPs(X5 fit very well). Your 226 holster mileage will probably vary from my X5 exp though.

Thanks, I was just wondering if they were worth the $120 price tag. I love the way they look, they're just expensive versus the other houge grips I have on my ruger revolvers.
I haven't had a chance to shoot this one yet but its the newest model p226 and it had pretty good reviews. Hopefully its as reliable as the reviews said.

While I can't offer an opinion on the newest model of Sig's P226, I can say that the one I've been shooting for the last few years has been flawless. It has over 12,000 rounds through it and has proven to be very accurate as well as reliable. It has a pair of Piranha Hogue G10s grips that I find very comfortable and provide a good grip. One thing about the G10s, any of the textured grips (meaning checkered, chainlink or piranha) can be tuned to provide the grips texture you prefer, to a point, if you find them to be a little too aggressive. When new, fresh from the machines, the little points of the textured surface can feel a little sharp but a couple of swipes with a very fine sandpaper knocks the tips off and tones down the grip. Continue taking light passes with the sandpaper until you get the feel you want. None of this will affect the color of the textured area since the color is impregnated throughout the grip. I do not touch the smooth portions of the grip to avoid any scratches that could show.

Hope this helps...Sig Marine

I switched from the Hogue grips (not sure which model) to the wrap around sleeve years ago and never looked back. The sleeve is perfect, the grip panels made the grip way too wide for my hands.

I have a set of Hogue rubber grips on a Sig P220 and they feel comfortable BUT the 220 is a single stack. They would be way too thick on a 226 for me. The G10s are not much wider than the standard plastic grips that come stock on most of their guns but there's a little less material in the backstrap so it helps with reach to the trigger face. I prefer the Piranha style over the others but the checkered are nice as well. The chainlink...not so much, at least for me.
