Bean didn't stink. I pulled them from the caner around 10 last night and noticed some didn't seal around 5 this morning. 6.5 Baby Mama smells of sweet crack cocaine and cocobutter. She's a keeper...

If you've got a local source for them, I've had good luck with the "Ball" brand of jars and lids. I don't have a proper "canner", just a big pot on the stove like when I was a kid, but even their big-mouth jars seal dependably.

BTW, you snare any 'yotes with those new traps yet?

I only set three steel traps. Two of the sets have been ruined by rain and one got a piece of a rabbit. It was offset jaws and had enough room for the bunny to get out, just leaving a little hair. It must have been a big rabbit or maybe he jumped and landed on it cause I turned up the pan tension a little before setting. When it looks like we'll have a week of no rain I'll set the rest along some 4 wheeler trails in the woods.
