I have a Timney trigger in my Rem 700 and I want to begin the prep work for bedding a new stock. I know that the timney comes with a keeper pin to hold the sear and sear spring in place and it is driven out during installation. So how do I keep it from flying out when taking out the trigger group?

Thanks.

i'd tap it in, using it with a punch to tap the pin out (just like you did putting it in)... measure how far it needs to go, then once you get that deep pull the pin out from the other side.

i've never done this, just thinking outloud. not 100% sure it will work.

I got it. It was pretty easy actually. I just tapped out the rear pin a little ways and then put the keeper pin on top and tapped it through until it was centered in the group and holding the sear in place. Easy as pie.

Thanks for the tips guys.
