Sidearms & Scatterguns How do you carry your pistol?

I carry appendix also. For me it is the fastest way to draw and the easiest to conceal. I carry a g19 with an rmr and can easily conceal it.
Carrying like this is a very holster depended though. Take a look at Keepers concealment. They cost an arm and a leg but are one of the best designs out there. A good holster is extremely important for appendix carry.
I think I'd need to lose a few pounds to do that. How annoying is it to drive with appendix carry?

Arkansas implemented an Enhanced CHCL and it has some different qualifying requirements and an extra 8 hours of class room time. It lets you carry in state buildings, on college campuses (no sporting events), in bars, and other "sensitive" locations. A holder can even carry in airports right up to the TSA check point...

And I agree! During the course we waited for the folks qualifying for basic CHCLs and it was terrifying!!! The plus side was our instructor brought his supressed B&T 9mm rifle. It had the Franklin trigger that fires once when you pull it and once when you release it! Super fun to shoot once you got a good rhythm down!
I grew up in Arkansas (tough loss tonight against KY). I guess they've gotten a bit more "in to" the Concealed Carry then since my father got his. Not sure about out of state...do they issue? I still have property back there so it'd be nice to have an Arkansas permit.

For me the only way I can carry is front pocket. Due to my dress style, work environment, shape of my body, I 've never found any other way that seems to work as well for me.
What holster do you use sir? I admit pocket carry is a lazy way, but for me it works as well. My waist size is always up or down depending on several factors ( thyroid for one), so I've found pocket carry is at least consistent as IWB just doesn't work for me. In winter I'll do OWB if I consider where I'm going. Fortunately where I am living now the crime rate is extremely low during the day and at night it's bad only in areas one may expect.

Leaving me to wonder, as nice as the sub 2-second drills are on the range, just what happens if one is caught off guard like in church (say during prayer), grocery shopping, etc? I find it hard to believe everybody is walking around ready (and capable) of accomplishing a "Red-Bull F1 Pit-Stop" 24/7 whilst sitting in a pew, putting their grapes or apples in the plastic bag at the store, inspecting paint supplies at Lowes, etc. Not saying that sub-2 seconds in practice situation doesn't help; but what degradation is there in "normal life" situations where one may have to deploy? At what point does the "what the heck" factor seriously slows down the reaction? And...how does one train to NOT let the sheer shock impede?

I can't honestly answer that. I can tell you that Arkansas is a constitutional carry state these days so you don't need a permit but I consider it cheap insurance and we recognize every state in the Unions CCW permits except for Vermont (No CCW offered, just carry!) and also recognize the District of Columbia, New York City, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

P.S. @BytorJr What part of Arkansas? If you don't mind me asking.

I currently use a De Santis super fly.
However IF you carry a gun with a front sight post, cut out a little bit of the front of the holster, so the front sight doesn't eventually get pushed down and then get caught hard in the front.

There's this legal thing called reciprocity. You should look into it.

Plus AR being Constitutional Carry, you're good to go anyway.
Always looking for a new permit to add to my resume ;). Just had not heard of the enhanced. I looked into an Arkansas CHP about 15 years ago and they scoffed at my Florida permit (not the state, but places offering courses). So I never bothered any further because of the reciprocity. I figure it can never hurt having a license in a state you frequently visit.

Since Dad has passed, I won't be going back there much and once I can sell his property I'll try my best to never set foot there again. Other than duck hunting and some decent fishing, I cannot at the moment think of a single redeeming quality outside of hunting and fishing of living there - there may be some, I just cannot identify them off the top of my head. Probably something to do with the shit that went down after he passed that tainted it for me.

Winter carry- OWB glock 26, right hip. 2nd 15 rd mag on left hip

Summer- IWB glock 26 right hip or Ruger EC9 (new gun) in pocket holster. Right pocket

I tried ankle carry as a backup gun for work. Didn’t care for it. Always worried about losing it. The appendix (front carry) whatever it’s called Just isn’t comfortable for me. Sticking into stomach etc

AR SBR or cz scorpion in the truck. Both registered as pistols and carried with the mag in not chambered for shtf.

I’m very quick shooting from the hip at close range with the winter carry. The summer carry takes a bit longer to draw. Due to the gun not being as pronounced/easy to grab etc. The church shooting was an eye opener for sure as it pertains to time to draw weapon. Best thing they ever did in our training is taped our sights off. Fast shooting inside 7 yards I couldn’t tell you if the sights are even on my guns. Just instinct shooting

My Tier 1 Axis Slim landed today and I am loving it! Added a wedge for a bit more tuck of the grip but this holster hides the STI double stack a 20 round mag great and is very comfy too boot!
