How do you get your new toys into the house without pissing her off?

Every new rifle I get comes into the house in a old rifle case usualy on a day when she knows I have been to the range. It goes like this.....

Her..."Hey babe did you have a good day shooting today?"
Me...."Yea it was great I shot pretty good today"
Her..."Thats great you need any help getting your stuff out the truck?"
Me..."No thanks babe I got it...I am going to put my rifles back in the safe.......Hey where do you want me to take you for dinner tonight?".........ha ha I feel guilty for about 5 minutes then the thought of my new rifle in the safe makes me feel better.....lol

My preferred method and seems to work pretty well so far is as follows.
I am the parts research and aquisition manager.
She is in charge of shipping and recieving.
I take the long path since I research the hell out of everything before I buy / build ( patience of a snake )
I tend to be gone working when the Brown truck drops things off so that helps with the initial sting.
Later as the questions arise throughout the process I give my best technical and statistal analysis on the end product until I get that glazed over look and then change the subject.
Taking her out on strategically planned date nights adds to the smoothing over and ass kissing process.

And most importantly I am married to a good woman that understands what a big ass kid I am.

Sneak them in when she’s not home. Have to back my car into the garage that way the cameras outside don’t catch me opening the trunk and since she is not home it means her car isn’t in my way which in return gives me more space to run to the safe before she gets home. Just to be on the safe side I turn off all power through the circuit breaker that way no cameras catch me. Been doing it for years. Every now and then I’ll say I’m selling a rifle and buy her something nice from the “proceeds”.

Hell, that made it hard to buy reloading supplies.
Then again, she didn't think twice about spending $100 on a dinner just to shit out out the next day.
Whenever I brought a new gun in the house, I would leave it out for her to see and tell her it belonged to my dad.
He'd come over later that day to set it up with me and clean it.
We'd eat dinner and then start load work up for it so we could shoot the next day.
Some how his guns always lived at my house...

I got remarried a couple of years ago. Rebecca likes shooting and fishing. She bought my newest gun for me.
Also, last year she "told" me I needed a new boat.
Well, yes ma'am!!

If the climate is stormy, I wait; it's always bound to change soon enough. When it changes, I remind her that we've already discussed the purchase.

I told her this after my second US Optics scope, AMP Annealing Machine and CO-AX press. As long as I buy one big item every year, I usually don’t catch much flak.
Also, I give her zero shit about things she wants to buy. Shoes, house decorations, or planning trips. Doesn’t bother me and I tell her to go ahead.

This is what I do and I do always let her in on the purchase before it is made. She does all of the bill paying at home so there is no way to hide a purchase of that magnitude but they don't occur very often. I make a large purchase every couple of years...mostly scopes and new barrels. She always cringes relative to the scope purchases but I don't get too much grief for the reasons noted above

It keeps the peace, as she knows, that I know, when it should be discussed before hand. (Still working on getting consent on an AXMC, since I "need" something in a long action length, and the AI-AT just won't fill that niche. ) That reminds me, I need to tell her I ordered a can last week. Ooops.

Damn, that Girl can spend some money but I am Always Happy, as She always gets the Hebrew deal on everything.
I couldn't deal with her if I were the seller, She is ruthless, and when I find something I want I send her to go negotiate the deal. Saves me money every time.

That's similar to how I do it. My wife knows about all of my bigger purchases but she doesn't care if I buy a bunch of reloading supplies without telling her. We pretty much discuss anything over 1k before I buy it. The only thing she's said no to is an AXMC and that's simply because it's not in the budget right now. I know it's not but it's still fun to fuck with her and give her shit that she never let's me buy anything.

Man a AXMC in 338LM is definitely on my "dream list" maybe one day.

I always feel like once I get them in the house and in the safe I am 90% in the clear....lol for some reason it just feels better than walking through the door with it and getting caught red handed.......I see a lot of us have to play the same game.

The MRAD actually consolidated a bunch of rifles that I was able to sell.

I have multiple Mk12s, which luckily look the same to her as a M110, which doesn’t seem to look any different than any of my KAC carbines because she asked me once why I took the scope off of it lol

Toss in a SAW which she thinks is my 3rd gun, she also has no understanding that I have more than one sidearm.
