How do you like the Redding T7 turret press?

Anyone used one of these and can comment on if there is enough room between the dies on the turret so that you can get a wrench on them to adjust? Its hard to tell by the pictures how much room there is between the dies when the turret is loaded up.

Being looking at buying one of these as I like the idea on setting up my sizing dies for my specific rifles and not having to tear them down when I switch rifles.

I like mine. Haven't had any issues with room, regarding die adjustment. Here's a couple pics from different angles.

I really like mine but as you mention space can be an issue between the dies but what I do to alleviate that is setup the dies individually to where I want them and set it and forget it

Love my T7. You dont need to wrench the shit out of the dies to keep them in. Just use Hornady lock rings, screw the dies down to a good strong cam over, then finger tighten the lock rings and screw in the hex bolt while in the cam over position. WHen you lower the ram, the downward pressure will keep the dies in there very tight.

I bought mine because i couldn't find a co-ax anywhere at the time. I'm glad it worked out that way. I really like everything about the t7 so far.

I like mine, but wish they offered one with a solid ram, not cut out for the primer arm. This would eliminate the occational primer or debris from jumping out the front, and onto the floor.

You can remedy that with some steel repair epoxy putty. fill the channel leaving the center free for the primer to drop, after its cured, sand the portion thats sticking out so the ram can go up and down freely.

i love mine
i also have the occasional primer jump out but i use the automatic primer feed so i cant cover up that slot in the ram
i looked at the rcbs turret at the same time
the T7 looks like its on steroids versus the rcbs turret
if your reloading rifle cartridges then the T7 is the way to go
the rcbs looks like it would be good for pistol reloading
only thing better than a T7 turret would be a Hollywood turret

I think it's a good press, and I would have one if I didn't have a Co-Ax, the reason you want a t7 is because you hate changing dies out, your looking for something faster hence the turret, but things the Co-Ax does better include 2 second die changes, floating case holder and floating dies, it makes straight ammo because everything floats, the spent primers fall into a nice jar, no mess no primers on the floor, the Co-Ax has 6 times the mechanical advantage of any other press, no shell holders to buy, and can prime brass with it, so before you spend your money on a new press please consider the Co-Ax.

I talked to them shortly after it first came out and they had already introduced a solid replacement ram because of the many requests. It still handles spent primers, but does not have the slot for priming.

I wish they would just ship them with the solid ram.
Does anyone actually use a press for priming? I tried it once and wondered why anyone would bother......hand tools are so much faster.

A late friend of mine had a T-7 and he loved it. While I have never owned one myself, I have helped him and used his press. It was a pretty slick setup.

I contacted Redding, and they said to try them in a few months, as they don't have any in stock, but will be tooling up to make them them. They will be making a batch for sale to others that want the same.

I really like mine. Finally got another turret and put my Dillon Case Trimmer in that one. They make a wrench that fits between the dies. The Redding locknuts also have the locking screw. Another handy way to install it is with the Dillon 550 press mounts. It raises it up so you can access drawers underneath your press if you have them. The holes line up perfectly and the press ends up sitting about 8-9 inches higher. I'm eventually going to post pictures of my load room........

I prime with my T7. Never used hand tools for priming. The mechanism doesn't bother me, and I think it works very well. As far as the primers getting shot out onto the floor, I have found that if you deprime very slowly, almost 100% of the spent primers make it into the tube. If you pop them out quickly, about 30% shoot out.

I'm digging the T7 on the Dillon mounts triplecelectric!

I might see if I can do the same to my RCIV. I love cranking out rounds on my elevated Dillon, but my RCIV, at counter top height, kills my back if I do very much work with it.

No idea if it will work. The T7 was very easy in that all of the holes lined up perfectly and all the nuts and bolts were provided. I suppose you could always drill holes in the mount for whatever press your using. You just have to make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the bottom of the ram and the bench. The T7 needed about 8" of clearance and the taller 550 mount provided that while the 650 mount did not. If you look at the pictures you can see that the 650 mount next to my T7 is much shorter than the T7 mount. The RCIV may work. Let us know. The only issue I had in the mounting was that my bench has a small upward sloping lip that wouldn't let the mount sit TOTALLY flush but I pushed it forward just enough that the handle barely clears on the down stroke. However it is totally stable and I think very sanitary.

Priming with the T7 was not fun at all, slow as hell. Ive been using the same Lee hand priming tool since I started, havnt found a reason to use anything els.

How much play is in the turret head on you guys' T7? Mine seems loose, but I did contact redding and they told me that it is loose to rotate, but under pressure it locks in level. I assume it works as they say, but I figured I ask you other guys that have them. If all is well with mine I love it. It is slow for my pistols, but I just need to break down and buy the Hornady LNL AP.

I prime probably 80% of my loads with a Lee AutoPrime. I have worn out a couple of them. But a little Vaseline or light grease on the pivot points and they will last a LONG TIME. On their worse day they will out do a press priming operation on it's BEST day.

You can fix that easy. Get a little Lee "Reloader" press and put a Universal Decapper die in it. Won't be any primer grit on the ram, no spent caps on the floor.
