Thought I've seen some conversations lately discussing how to ship gun powder and primers as an individual without a hazmat license. Something like just taking it to FedEx and pay some extra fees? Anyone with some insight?

AFAIK you need to have a shipping contract to do it with them "legally" (...not sure if its legal/illegal but definitely against their contract). That said I just purchased some primers from GB a couple weeks ago and the guy clearly just packaged them carefully, slapped 'em in a box and shipped them. I wouldn't take that risk but some people do.

Has to go ground either way

You cant. Legally. Massive fines. You cant use bankruptancy to get around or keep your house and a car either.

if caught—you will lose EVERYTHING. Then you can file bankruptancy. But there wont be anything left.

Last time there was a guy who got reported by one of his gunbroker buyers. Guess someone wanted revenge for being taken so hard. He lost it all. Huge thread on Arfcom where many watched it happen. Its all public.
