Gunsmithing How does Cerakote hold up on the bolt?

I am getting ready to Cerakote my CZ rimfire. The bolt is a pretty good fit, I was wondering if it would rub off if I painted the body of the bolt as well? What are your opinions of painting the bolt body as well? I see it painted on some and not touched on some rifles. Just curious!

It will rub off over time and the feel of the bolt will not be as smooth. If you have to do it try Cerakote micro slick. It only comes in one color though.

I had my bolt cerakoted. I do my best to keep some CLP on it, but when it isn't oiled up, I think you can feel a little extra friction. It is mainly wearing off on the lugs of mine.

Yep same as elm300,mine is starting to wear off. I was in the Longrifles bolt Group buy and had it cerakoted FDE. Its starting to wear on the lugs,and I keep it slick with CLP. Other than that,it wipes off clean.

Ok guys thanks for the info, any idea if the microslik holds up any better? It seems like I have hears of painting the inside of the action as well, but I would prefer not to do that! I may just leave it how it is..

Ionbond the bolt and never worry about it again. Its the best stuff out there

Just tape the lugs off when you coat it. Bamskies! Done and done.

Had my bolt done as well. Has been wearing off down the bolt body in a few places.

In my experience with MicroSlick it is not as tough as Cerakote.
