Rifle Scopes How good is this scope?

Re: How good is this scope?

One of my good friends has one on his LR308. I've used it when the scope was on his 308 bolt gun. I like it, my only beef is the small objective has some limits when it comes to low light shooting.

The class is pretty good, the feature list is good, and it does it's job well. I would not choose it for a hunting scope since most shots are either just as light is coming in or going out.

I have about 30 min more shooting time with my 50mm Conquest over the 42 when we shot them all the way till full dark.

Re: How good is this scope?

A buddy of mine had a IOR on his .308, had no issues. Fit and finish were good and it had good glass too. That being said I am an owner of several USO scopes and cant say enough of their durability.
Hell my spotter can double as a club in a pinch.

If you can swing eatin ramen for a lil while longer get yourself the scope doc76251 mentioned. I have that very scope on my .308, its a great setup and is very capable of getting you out to 1000yds if you want to.

Re: How good is this scope?

I have that scope on my 300 whisper, and as can be imagined, lots of turret cranking with that round.
Have seen no issues with click accuracy or repeatability.
Have only run it out to 8 mils and back (numerous times) without a hiccup.
I have not run a box test on it.
This is my second IOR 2.5-10. I feel it is a better scope, all around, than a comparable Mark4 FWIW.
Call Scott at LO for the skinny.

Yes, we shot a box test immediately with my buddy's scope. First day was bore-sighting, box test and then moving out to 400yd and checking the tracking at slightly longer range.

He's of the same mindset that I keep. It doesn't matter what the price-tag or the reputation, everything is tested before it's taken out to the field for anything.
