I bought a scope off the hide that was damaged in shipping. Its not insured to the price of the scope so i reached out to primary arms to see what they can do. What is your guy's experience in the past dealing with primary arms??

PA is generally pretty solid, but that sounds like a problem with the shipper who packaged the box or the carrier being extra heavy on it. It looks like there was barely enough room in that box for the scope + proper padding.
I would be inclined to contact the seller for a refund for improper packaging.....

I contacted the post office first and primary arms to see if they can provide me anything.
I also contacted the seller on here to let him know about it. As far as packaging it was wrapped in a bubble wrap envelope and put inside the box so that didn’t save anything when usps decided to drop a crate on this package.
This is where Proper packaging AND insurance is useful (and insurance won't be any good without proper packaging, that's the first weasel way out).
I'm always amazed at how folks will be selling some expensive item and can't be bothered to spend a couple dollars packing it well.

That's definitely a shipping issue, as others have said. Looks like it was poorly packed and the hulk delivered it. Sheesh.

I'd be contacting the seller for a refund, he/she can hopefully get whatever amount the insurance covered and unfortunately would have to eat the rest. If the seller wont settle this be sure to let us know! I buy most everything off the hide anymore and have had great luck, but I'd be pretty pissed if my scope came in like that.

I have all my boxes from the scopes I’ve bought. I saved them in case I sold them. Hope the seller refunds the money because a $5 trip to a store for supplies would have had a different outcome.
I would like to see how this all plays out before bashing anyone just yet. I was gifted with a little patience so i will give all parties involved time to come up with a resolution. I will post pictures in a few days.
I will keep you posted on this. He seems willing to work with me. I contacted PA first and USPS if they don't cover it i will have to try and get a full refund.

Of us feeling a bit entitled. I would greatly appreciate if PA assisted with replacement but I’m not really expecting that. I don’t even think USPS was insured to the value of the scope either. It’s looking like it’s mostly falling back on the seller who packaged it.
I would NEVER ship a scope as pictured. That's ridiculous.
To me, this is on the seller or whoever packed this as USPS, the shipper does not pack, as that ranks with one of the worst packing jobs I have ever seen. It should have been padded inside one box then double boxed with real boxes, not the USPS paper Priority paper box. For something like this, I would go to Home Depot and spend a couple of bucks on a 1"x2'x8' piece of pink house insulation, the stuff is damn near indestructible, and use this between boxes as armor. I've shipped framed art pieces with success using this method. Good luck anyway.

The shipper should have insured the value of the scope or negotiated it in the price. Could be a rookie mistake though on both ends on how it was omitted. Should've been packaged better though.

Even if USPS were to cover it, the shipper has to file the insurance claim. The person who receives it can't.
Rapped in bubble rapped, stuffed in a flimsy ass USPS box. No chance i would package a scope like that. If I don't have a factory box to put it in, I build a double layered box that you could probably just about drop a crate on with out damaging the scope. Most of the factory boxes are very good at protecting the scope during shipping. I have sold enough scopes on here there are probably a few that could vouch for this. Probably some people that laughed as they opened a four found home made box of a scope protecter.
Probably the best insurance is insurance. Stamp a 600 dollar tag on it and it gets treat a little different. Spring for priority, it a couple bucks more, but 3 days is less time for someone to fuck it up. Sometimes shit just happens.

This is why insurance is the seller’s responsibility. Check the sticky. I’m shocked at how many postings say insurance is optional and up to the buyer.

I had him send me a validation photo with the date, signature and the scope.
As far as serial number I didn’t see it so I guess in theory it still could have been damaged prior, that’s not likely if you consider the box it was sent in and the poor protective envelope it was placed in.
It’s great to hear that PA is going to take care of you.
Although it’s kind of crappy that a business has to come out of their pocket to bail out a lazy ass seller.

I totally agree, this is what the seller asked me to do first obviously. I own 4 primary arms scopes and after this is all over I will make it
Known how they took care of me.
It shouldn't be on PA to make this right and even if they do, the seller owes you something back. It is totally the seller's fault and he should be flamed for shipping it this way and should be out something. Letting PA bail his ass out is just not right.

No need to get all virtue signaling about wanting to go on some witch hunt and revert to your puritan roots and want to punish and destroy folks because well...
I'm sure the seller didn't purposely pack it badly. They probably just have no clue about packing.
So explain to them nicely how they packed it and what happened to it & why and what they should do next time to do it correctly.
Then tell them you will try to work it out with Primary Arms and perhaps any insurance if there is some (usually at least $50 to $100 with priority mail depending on how they purchased the postage).
Then tell them if things don't work out with them, then you and them will need to come up with a solution that works for both of you, which may involve you sending the scope back to them and them refunding you.
No need to be an ass about things.
This kind of stuff happens to me at work all the time and we don't ever get mean about it, we just work quietly and respectfully to resolve the issue.

Well Primary Arms LLC covered this scope under warranty. This should clear up any questions in the future regarding their warranty as they replaced this item no question asked. It did take a few weeks but they also sent me the wrong scope at first, they sent the 5.56 reticle so they sent me a prepaid label and got the 308 dmr exchanged out in less then a week. So buy with confidence from them, I know they are definitely at the top of my list when looking. I included 2 photos of the replacement scope they sent as well as the 556 model they originally sent.
