I found this report very surprising as I thought the number to be MUCH higher. Once again, proof that facts and numbers are superior indicators of the truth than conventional wisdom (of which I was grossly guilty).

Enjoy:

How much we spend on China.

Regardless, I still don't like China, still think they're a threat, an enemy, a nation of IP thieves and wish a plague upon the heads of their repressive leaders.

Only reading the thread title, I was getting ready to berate you for worrying about buying plates and shit.

I very much agree with your last line of the thread though

Re: How much do we spend on China....?

Funny how a puppy barks at the giant with thousands of years of impressive history. And God forbid we ever get involved with China militarily. The fact is, they can lose millions of troops and replace all of them in few hours. We simply don't have millions of troops to lose! Most likely, China is the only state on the planet that can withstand a full scale nuclear conflict. We can't.

We owe China a lots of money. That's not China's fault so get a reality check!

No matter where you go, you will find good folks and bad folks. So to say that China is evil is pretty fucking childish. And if you think their government is bad, just look at your own! As far as IP thieves go, the only difference here is that in the US, these criminals are employed...The best ones are hired by the US government...no shit! So take your red, white, and blue bandana off of your head and start thinking.

Re: How much do we spend on China....?

Puppy... yeah, right.

1,000s of years of history - ok, but Chairman Mao did his level, psychotic, pedophile BEST to eradicate it. I also said nothing about the county's history, just it's present stance on things. If you want engage in a discussion, do so with relevant points.

Military war - erm, who said anything about that and if it came to it, I doubt it'd be a land war so their millions of soldiers can all look to the sky just before they get bombed into oblivion. Ours would do the same I imagine given that it'd go nuclear and your point hence being moot.

Owe money to CHina. So what? I never mentioned it being good or bad. My point was about our expenditure on Chinese goods (if you can call that crap 'good') and services. Again, parameterize your argument appropriately.

I said China. The nation, the administration, not Chinese the race or culture (not that they have a culture anymore beyond ripping off Gucci or eating every known animal species into extinction). Do I have to tell you to limit your argument appropriately again?

I'll take the government of the USA over that pisspot of a country any day of the week (and yes, I've lived, been there, know it rather well).

IP thieves. Please. China doesn't even pretend to respect IP in that it has no IP laws. If you have accusations to make then substantiate them with some facts and evidence.

I don't have a red, white and blue bandana and you know what, I should. I'll remedy that today. It's beats one that's menstrual red with some yellow piss stains on it in the shape of stars.

Re: How much do we spend on China....?

I think the trade deficit number with China is far more alarming and accurate personally. From http://www.census.gov/indicator/www/ustrade.html,

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The goods deficit with China increased from $25.0 billion in May to $26.7 billion in June. Exports decreased $0.1 billion (primarily raw cotton, passenger cars, and pulpwood and woodpulp) to $7.7 billion, while imports increased $1.6 billion (primarily computers, apparel, and household goods) to $34.4 billion.</div></div>

Re: How much do we spend on China....?

I always laugh at the "strength" of the Chinese military. Sure, if you're going to grab rice farmers and conscripts and wage a land war, sure, they can throw masses amount of people. However, they are not going to take their fledgling navy and try and battle the 7th fleet. Want to take a guess at how many boomers and FA are parked off the China coast? I guarantee a lot more than China has sitting off of our coast. And if they do happen to have 1 of their 5 subs hovering around So Cal, there's a Sea Wolf sitting on its ass.

So in this analogy the USA is the "puppy" and China is "the Giant with thousands of years of impressive history"

I'd be willing to take the bet on China being able to withstand a nuclear conflict.

Of which country are you a citizen?

I don't have a red white and blue bandana but I do have a well developed sense of history. And the short history of my country is orders of magnitude greater in social and scientific and economic development than the "giant" you revere.

Since you did not have the balls to make a new post and bump the thread to the top I will respond with an edit too.
Only a very young man would make the assertions you have made. Anyone my age who has actually served knows better than to take your assumptions at face value. Why? Because we know the history. My country is in a mess now. No doubt about it. But we are still the greatest nation on the planet. Let China shoot a nuke and you will see. Our restraint on the battlefield is a testament to our humanity. We could have nuked any number of targets anywhere on the planet since USSR dissolved, but we have not. We have not bombed anywhere like we did in WWII out of consideration of civilian casualties. What would Iraq and Afghanistan look like if we had bombed them like we did Germany?
Yes, only someone truly ignorant of history and of our current capacity to wage war would say the USA can't compete with China.

Re: How much do we spend on China....?

Hilarious shit...

EDIT:

Oh yeah, when was the last time the US faced a modern, conventional, professional and a highly trained foe? That's right, it was way back in the WWII! Even then, the experience was rather limited since we didn't fight the biggest front of all - the Eastern. That greatest generation of all is gone. Now we have a bunch of cry babies and bed wetters complaining about fucking everything. When we lose Vietnam and can't even defeat CAVEMEN, what can I say. All we can do is to sit on a high horse with an illusion of superiority look on our sperm-splattered face and tell others how to live their lives. Stock up on Prozak and keep spinning that hamster wheel! Shit, we can't even get our space program together and have to pay the Russians $50 million each time they take our people to the space station! LMAO!

And I laughed!

And China depressing it's currency in order to flood the planet with melamine, lead and other toxic substitutes for plastic, wood and non-radioactive metals has had no impact on the trade deficits and the amount of debt that China holds.

I love the arrogance of the Chinese! So superior! What has China invented since the noodle? What has China innovated? And I'd keep your eyes on little Vietnam fellas, to your south east. They don;t like you terribly much. Nor does Taiwan, South Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and on and on...

China, a nation built on a lie, has a insurmountable problem given their business model: There are 800 million desperately poor people living there and they are getting more and more pissed that they remain so while another 300 million "Middle Class" can't afford to buy anything because of Commie Central's manipulation of the currency! By keeping the Renmindi pegged below the dollar, the Yen, and the Euro, they have inflated their own currency. But their crappy products can't compete without such currency screwage! Yet they bitch about how we subsidize our own parasites! Ironic huh? can you feel the Zen of it?

As to what we owe China; the lesson provided by the dwindling number of productive people in this country, who believe that hard work, innovation and the willingness to defend what is ours, will always outperform the lazy, indolent, self righteous klepto-societies.

China- 3000 miles wide and 1 millimeter deep! I for one am terrified!

Wait.

When you asked about the US fighting a modern, professional, highly trained enemy you were talking about the Taiwanese right? Because unless it's unarmed civilians I've not seen much out of your fake Gucci wearing, cat eating, ripped off CD selling juggernaut you seem to have a toothpick sized woody over.

Your knowledge of history sucks as you've forgotten the Korean War. Maybe that 'official' history text book you were issued left that one out.

Well, if we fight China we still wont be fighting a modern, conventional, professional and highly trained foe. Sorry but conscript do not fall into that category

What? Are you generally stupid or just ignorant of history? We fought a land, sea and air battle on the western front, not to mention it stretched from North Africa to the North Sea.

Again you reveal the level of your intellect by trying to pass off your description of politicians and not the American fighting force. It's not the Admirals and Generals holding us back.

It's spelled "Prozac". Maybe the Chinese knock-off made with stolen IP technology is spelled "Prozak", but the real product, made here in the USA by Americans, is spelled "Prozac".

I know how you feel. That's like asking your neighbor for a ride to work in his Yugo while your Corvette sits in the driveway.

Revived? From two days ago?

What he meant to say is "I know all of you are correct and I don't have a response to refute your statements, therefore I'm going to go back in hiding.

No, thank you for the laugh.

Brother, I dont know where you get your info but having been in Iraq with our Military recently I can say this. Your dumb as horse shit. These men fighting for us are the best of the best and we should all be proud to have such a well trained and dedicated military. No pussies there. No complainers there. Most of these guys have given 4-7 years in a combat zone, of thier lives.

To all that have been insulted by this hat rack, please understand due to budget cuts we have cut back on special education and some less than bright bulbs are walking around

Re: How much do we spend on China....?

We don't need to make excuses or explain ROE to him. He applauds an oppressive, polluted, souless nation that rolls tanks against it's own. What would such a backward nation and it's supporters understand about civility and decency?

I do notice that despite his contempt for the USA he's still willing to avail himself to our superior standard of living rather than live in that human toilet called Beijing.

Like I said, no decency.

Before you can understand anything you have to suspect something first.

Viewing an quarter backing from the cheap seats is a Fan's privilege,...That was paid for, by the Players.
