How much do your rimfire competition rifles weigh?

18.4lbs
PDC Chassis
It’s rock solid off a props but on the heavy side when shooting off hand.

Not sure what the B14R will come in at but my CZ AT-One weighs about 12 pounds and balances right in front of the magwell with a 24" barrel and a suppressor. It's my squirrel slayer.

Believe its 14.5lbs with bipod. Normally this is 22-23lbs loaded with my 308 barreled action and can. Practically a featherweight now. Lol

Balances right at the angled portion in front of the mag well. Did not plan it in any way.

And its a carbon barrel btw...

Gun balances great for unsupported shooting not that is needed factor anymore.

Should strip an old harris bipod apart and attach a boat anchor to it so my tactical trainer rifle is better for barricades.

I chased the weight/balance game for a while trying to see what the balance would be like if I really wanted to game stages and free recoil things. The lightest setup I've found is -

XLR Envy Pro with the carbon buttstock and the Long nose extension w/ a 22" barrel.
MDT ACC with the aluminum buttpad (not the default steel one) with the Mirage Shield up front.

With the ACC, you would get balance right around 16lbs.
With the Envy Pro with the standard stock it would be around 15lbs
With the Carbon Buttstock you can get down to I think 13.5.

This is also running a lighter scope like the NF NX8 4-32 or Vortex Razor HD AMG.

22” MTU in a lightweight Foundation is really rear heavy until you add all the internal brass weights and the Area 419 weighted rail. I need to check the weight again but it’s around 20lbs with bipod and the plate with the weights in it as well. It balances but still favors the back end.

Swapping the barreled action for the 24” Proof Competition Contourish profile adds at least a pound. It balances but seems to favor the front.

So the PRS must be pretty light in the rear for it to balance there.
Doesn’t seem overly heavy in the rear but does have an adjustable cheek piece. Honestly though it’s not a scale so doesn’t have to balance perfectly on a needle tip to be able to shoot well. Don’t get to far down the balance rabbit hole.

I have a Rim-x in an MDT ACC that balances nicely about 3 inches infront of the mag well, it really help me on balance objects like tank trap tips, fences, etc. would love to get the Vudoo at least close to it.

I built mine to be closer to a hunting weight. As matches are more for fun and practice. My comp gun comes in right under 9lbs. Balance point is at the mag w/ bipod attached. Still very handy and stable. Shoots bugholes...

How many of you chase a certain balance point? which chassis or stock has less weight in the rear making it easier to chase that "infront of the magwell balance point?
As others have said, I made my 6.5 Creedmoor and my Vudoo the same in everything (weight 22lbs) from scope, trigger and trigger weight, chassis, scope mount. It really does work. I was at the range today and went from practicing with the big rifle to the vudoo and didn't miss a step. Love looking through the same scope and knowing exactly how it works from rifle to rifle. The MDT ACC chassis is so easy to get balanced. The weights aren't cheap, but well worth it IMHO.

Yes and yes:) also 22 kit for the Blaser(y)
Oh wow, I didn't even notice the bottom rifle was a Blaser. Cool stuff.

What's the cost of those conversions compared to say.... a CZ455 or a nicer Anschutz where you live? Sauer's are fairly rare in the US, and I don't think I've ever seen a Blaser 22 conversion (and very few Blaser rifles even).

The sauer 200 kit runs 10500nkr. The 22 kit for blaser R93 was a limited production about 10 years ago. Approximately 12000nkr then. Nkr=Norwegian krone.
You do the math😉😁

My Vudoo 360 with MTU barrel in a KRG X-Ray is right at 16 lbs with an MDT Groundpod.
Balances 2.5" in front of the mag well.
Although really the balance of the rifle itself isn't that important. I can run an X-plate or a Grayops plate if I need to change the balance.

Custom 22LR in MPA Matrix Pro chassis with ALL Grayops internal weights; 20" 1.25" straight barrel; balance point just in front of mag well. With Accu-Tac bipod and Gen III scope, rifle weights 22lbs...Totally free recoil.

Mine's 18-19lbs. Savage Mkii 20" in a Rhineland Leopard stock. Balances perfectly. One trick is I run 5rd mags and practices mag changes on the clock. It's a pain in the ass but I don't worry about the mags getting bumped into anything or feeding issues. They sit completely inboard the stock. Ordered the brass online and cut and shaped the pieces to fit along the fore end, under the area419 arca rail, and on top the spigot mount from a KRG chassis. Side piece are .375" thick and arca rail/spigot are .25"

A heavy rifle is perffered for bench shooting. It has less tendancy to shift and also has less recoil, making for faster come back for second shot ect ect. bench rifles also have heavier barrels.so in addition to make rifle more stable it also helps to balance the rifle with the heavier stocks. I have seen some that will drill holes in bottom of stock and add lead to help balance the rifle and add weight. My bench 223,weights in at 15.6 LBS. Some can be front heavy from the barrel weight. Is it more accurate--NO, Does it make you more accurate--YES.

As Slamfire indicates-F-Class is going to work on weights for rifles. Right now(correct me if i miss the weight) you must weight at least 9 and no more than 16 Lbs

16 lb 10 oz without bipod. Balances ~2” in front of the mag well with a custom 3lb front weight. Waiting on an aluminum butt plate piece to replace the standard steel one that’ll drop ~8oz and push the balance point forward a bit more.
