How much reduction of recoil does a little bastard

LB, jetblast, heathen, hellfire

honestly, pick one on looks they're all so close. Josh will tell you otherwise. but without some high level testing and talking in small percentages, most people cant tell the difference

my 7stw had a relatively light barrel and no brake and i had it re-barreled with a slightly heavier barrel, and little bastard brake, and recoil is way less. i actually didn't mind it before but now it's a lot less.

I don't have a way to quantify recoil, but this video shows a 6.5 Grendel ar15 shooting 123 gr Eld-Ms at ~2550, using a little bastard brakes. The wobbly "tic tac toe" supports really has the potential to exacerbate recoil. Draw your own conclusion.

That said, I think a bit too many electrons are used discussing brakes. While some really don't seem to work well at all, there really isn't a curly red's width of difference between most of the bigger names. Pick one you like and drive on.

Most of the brakes that folks use around here are quite similar- self timing, large ports, etc. Personally, I like the adapters that the Area 419 Hellfire and Sidewinder have to allow you to mount a supressor. Really though, the APA bastards, Area 419s, and the similars seem to be same from a recoil perspective.

As stated above, it’s hard to measure.

I’ve shot my 6creed with and without my little bastard or pva jetblast. Obviously it’s a 6, so recoil isn’t an issue, but it’s definitely a large reduction.

It's a great brake I have a few of them well made well machined recoil reduction is significant. However if I had it to do over again I'd buy the Area 419 brake. I'm not sure what about the APA rationalises the $160 pricepoint. If I want to add a can the APA has the large flats to remove it and direct thread the can and I like direct thread but the downside is when I reinstall the brake I lose my zero since the brake isn't going to go back exactly where it was.

except those are all AR brakes and an old test that's not relevant
While the Little Bastard may not be among those tested, the test is far from irrelevant regardless of when it was done.

It is far MORE relevant than all the bullshit, unsubstantiated OPINIONS that get thrown around here about recoil reduction without a single shred of verifiable evidence.

At least the guy thought things through and made a rational attempt at quantifying recoil reduction. Far more than anyone ever does here.

And WTF is an AR brake? A brake is a brake. It's percentage of recoil reduction can be applied generally without regard to the kind of rifle it's screwed on.

how many of those brakes are seen on AR10s versus precision rifles? even just look at their names and the companies who make them

also...its a dated test that doesn't have them compared to anything we use now, for the most part

It doesn't fucking matter what kind of rifle the brake is on. The brake doesn't care.

Many on the brakes on that test have the same basic design that the "cool kid" PRS brakes have. The results are easily extrapolated, at least for an engineer like me.

Well my lil bastard came today and of course had to put it on and try er out. And WOW is all I can say. I was wandering if I made the right choice in purchasing this brake. But one shot is all it took. You can’t go wrong w it for sure. Tamed my 300 down to about the same level as my Unbraked 7mm-08. I own two brakes on two 30 cal rifles and am very pleased with both. The Lb on my 300 winnie and a cowl induction brake on my 308 win either way

There is a new one besides the jet blast from the same company, have you compared that one?
