i have a pair made by cerdayne that are 3/4-7/8 of an inch.

it seems to me the esapis made by ceradyne range from 3/4 to 7/8s of an inch, while plates made by armorworks are always a solid 1 inch.

i was wondering if the plates that are say 3/4 of an inch will stop ap rounds as a 1 inch plate would.

to those who aren't clear, here's a picture to prove my point. both are esapis, left is armorworks, right is ceradyne

Well... Without getting totally technical...opsec ect.... There are totally different models designed to stop AP rounds... Open forum not the place to explain up to what caliber for each model... But if you really need a vest with ceramic plates... I trust your employer would issue the correct ones... Also they seem used... Be forewarned... Dealing with surplus military body armor can be charged as a crime... Ask any pawn shop around any military post.

the plates in the pic aren't mine, i just used it as an example lol

i bought mine for personal security and they were privately purchased...owning body armor in my state isn't illegal

Re: how thick are esapi plates?

It's funny that I've been looking for Plate carriers and ceramic plate lately and came across your post. I believe level 4 will stop 308 ap and most are 1" thick. What carrier do you have?

You need level 4 plates for security???? What are you doing taking the Pope on a personal tour of Iran?? I have been in the business a long time and only wore soft armour on a detail. If its playing in the sand then its issued Interceptor.
