What’s the total included angle of your “cone of foliage”?
Halve the angle and level with protractor, kind of similar to what you are doing now.
Eyeballing it with the inside corner of your wall would probably be way quicker and easier though.

Tie the tip and hang it from the ceiling. I’ve learned here that leveling to gravity is the best way.
