How to post pictures on the new site

Easy (even I can do it....)

If you haven't already, create an account at Imgur (https://imgur.com/) and upload your pic(s) into your image library. Left click on any image in the library and a new window will pop up with the image and a number of choices vertically stacked, down the right hand side of the window. Click on the second selection up frpm the bottom ("BBCode (message boards & forums") and that will copy the location link of your image in Imgur. Then, just paste (right click, then "paste") that link into your post in your new message on the Hide. Boom, done.

There might be even faster/simpler ways of doing it. I struggled with the same thing a few months ago, then I found this method. It might be slower than other methods, but for what little I embed, it's of no consequence to me.

Just keep in mind that "image hosting" means that the image remains on Imgur (and the Hide does not retain the image) and the link you embed in your Hide message "points" at your image residing on Imgur.

Host and post is much better for all concerned than trying to upload photos to the server here.
As mentioned, use Imgur. It is by far the easiest hosting site.
You really don't even have to create an account with them unless you want to.
If you do create an account, learn their system, and post images to their Gallery unless you want millions of others to see them too. This is vital if you're posting personally identifiable information.

I’ve noticed we’ve gone back to 3rd party “host and post”. In the future can we hope to go forward (back to the Scout format) that is so simple and convenient? I’m not a computer guy, but the “new” is back to the “old”.

I was unable to edit the above post. What I meant to say was back to the previous type format, after Scout.
