How much movement do you have? A lot, a little....
Is it with a loaded mag or empty mag? Bolt open or closed?
What type of bottom metal and mag?

Yes its normal. The Badger M5 Mag System is not a tight fit as that would not allow for easy mag changes. With an empty mag it will rattle, with a full mag over a closed bolt it will not.

thank's for the to the point response, and now that it is coming from the man himself thank you for taking time out to answer it. i do have another issue on my rifle. when i open the bolt it sticks at the top. if i do it lightly it will spring back enough to complete the cycle, but if i am running and gunning and get fast and hard with it it will stick. at first i thought it was the ammo and getting hot but i can duplicate it when empty as well.

Is this for just the Badger M5 system, or is this an inherent trait with all AICS mag systems?

I just received my GAP and was shitting myself about the fact that the magazine was rattling like a French car. My other rifle, in an AICS, does not rattle one bit. Luckily I searched and found this, and yes, as soon as I put a blank firing adapter in it, rattle went away. Talk about eager beaver.
And in fact, the fact that magazine is loose makes sense, in that it does actually fall out when empty for magazine changes. With my AICS I was always annoyed that I would hit the release then spend minutes trying to get the damn magazine out.
