I did a forum search, but didn't find the answer.

I just got my new 2.5-10x24 Nightforce today. It is my first NF scope. Playing around with it I love the glass. Can't wait to take it out shooting tomorrow.

Read the manual, and all the guides, but I still don't understand how to set the elevation zero stop.

Could someone please clarify this for me? Break it down Barney style please.

After zeroing the scope remove the elevation turret from the scope. There will be a barrel with a small allen screw in it, loosen that allen screw, and rotate the barrel clockwise until it stops. Tighten the allen screw back down and replace the cap, the elevation zero stop has now been set. On the windage, set the knob to zero, it has a windage limiter so there is no way to reset it. Hope that helps, if you need further help I have the zero stop instructions on my website.

Speaking from personal experience lol? You do have to be careful with the small screws on the regular NXS zero stop but on the compact NXS scopes there's only one screw for the zero stop. I'd actually like it if NF used the same sort of ZS set up on the regular NXS scopes as they do on the compact series, it just seems more user friendly in my opinion.

You don't have to tell me, I've handled the S&B's Marines have sent in for repair...I've learned soldiers and Marines can truly break anything. Of course many people think that you need a Herculean amount of torque to keep a rifle scope or anyone of its components in place. Suddenly snug or 15 in/lbs becomes turn it until it squeals and then give it a quarter turn more.
