A 700 Rem. BDL action, trued; Timney trigger set to 2 lbs; Rock Creek 5R stainless barrel, 26", #6 contour, chambered to .300 H & H; McMillan fiberglass stock, I'd suggest HTG, general purpose hunting model, your choice of molded in color textured grip and fore-end.

Okay, got it. Manufactured by Randy Selby up around Yosemite. It started life as a Rem 700 SPS 7mm Rem Mag. I'm taking it out tomorrow to test cartridge loads. I put the same scope as my M40 w/Burris Zee Signature. 16x fixed 30mm Sightron. These scopes have 150 moa vertical travel but I went ahead and put the 10 moa inserts with the scope rings. I plan on using SMK 190 @2800 fps if the tests go as predicted. This gives me about less 150 fps @1000 yards on the 300 WinMag. I can load the cartridge to 2900 fps MV and get equal results. I'll find out with range work.
Whoever said they only get a few reloads from .300 H&H is full of it. I've been reloading RP brass for my Ruger No. 1 @2850 fps and working on the 4th go around and the brass shows no indication of failing soon. I've neck resizing. BTW, if you want to shoot for accuracy with the H&H you have to reload. They only have factory hunting loads at premium prices for this caliber.
Here is a pro .300 H&H article.
