As I was researching the Howa 1500 prior to sentencing it to the 10 day jail wait I read something about using the Remington 700 stocks with it. Unfortunately I can't find the writeup anymore. This brings me to the question? Is there any truth to it?

I'd be dealing with the Howa 1500 .308 with the heavy barrel in that cheesy hogue rubber stock and am toying with the idea of upgrading the stock out of the box.

Thanks. That explains why I can't find the writeup anymore which then makes me wonder: which stock.... the AXIOM stock that HOWA looks tempting but then again makes me wonder how well it works...

the Axiom stock works well , its a solid platform and the flat bottom lends itself to the bedding area of this stock.
I have one on my 10/22 also and love it , it allows my kids to shoot it and not worry abouy it not fitting them as the M4 adjustable buttstock
