I have a HS Precision HTR 2000 in .300 win mag. I love this gun, but I am thinking about doing a couple of modifications to it to make it more shooter friendly.
1. Installing a muzzle brake. I know that a muzzle brake is an option on the gun from the factory, but I didn't buy it new, and the guy who did opted away from the brake. I am wanting a AAC QD brake on there seeing how those are the silencers I like the most. My question is this, would a standard 7.62 muzzle brake work? or would the increased pressure of the .300 have more extreme effects than the .308?
2. The adjustable cheek piece on the stock is very nice, the only issue is that when it is raised to accommodate my profile, i can't remove the bolt, and must lower it completely to the bottom, and then raise it back up. The bolt only needs an extra 1/8-1/4" to clear. Has anyone ever shaved off that portion on a HS Precision stock? Anyone see any problems with this?
Thanks
