Hello everyone,

I live in Orange County N.Y. And looking to see if we have any other Hide members in the area. Possibly get together and do some shooting, currently I dont have access to any location past 100 yards which is killing me. If anything would appreciate info on some long range locations.

A little about me I have currently finished my first build in 308 win. Have been reloading for a year now love shooting and am extremely interested in learning and getting better. I shoot every Friday morning only out to 100 yards :( hopefully we have a few people on here in the area, and we can set something up.

Be safe and well
Mike

What's up Gregg,

I actually grew up in Westchester, Yonkers. Thanks for the welcome great forum tons of info.

I am going to research PA it's not to far from us and they are a Firearm friendly state, I will keep you posted.

I found one in LI If I remember correctly every other weekend or something they open it out to a 1000 beautiful, but I wouldn't dare go into the boroughs even with a bolt action.

Unfortunately I work Sunday - Thursday but that sounds like a good time. Do they do this several times a year,
And what's the best way to find out when these matches are taking place. With more notice would take a vac. Day to attend in the future. Also besides the Matches is the range ever opened to the public. I live 15 mins from that base.

Thanks for the info Magua, it is greatly appreciated

I live in pike county pa. There are a few longerish ranges in NEPA
Archibald state game land goes 200
East on fish and game 200
Ontaleunee goes 300
Lewistown has a range that goes 1k but its about 4 he's from you
Williamsport goes 1k
There's one near Lancaster that goesv600
And matamoras rod and gun goes 200 if you can get in there.

Are you talking about Calverton way out in LI? I think they have a 600yd range. I'll have to ask a friend. Going out to Brookhaven on Saturday (also in LI) and I think they go out to 200 or 300 yds. My gf lives up in Dobbs Ferry so I'm up in Westchester quite a bit. I live in Queens and have a few firearms so don't worry about coming down here. Just don't get pulled over. ;)

Used to be Calverton would stretch to 300, for the last hour, if everyone on the line agreed?
That place was a dump last time I shot there (>5yrs ago) But you can shoot prone in a pile of sand, rocks & old spent brass

Brookhaven is a nice, covered line, with solid benches. 200 max., no prone shooting...
