Yes, when wars end the people too young to have fought allow that animosity to die. That is what is supposed to happen. My neighbor, who I greatly admired before he passed, was a Iwo Jima veteran. He hated the Japanese to his death. I understood and respected that. Yet I drive a Toyota. Some here ride BMWs. I have friends north of the Mason Dixon line. I think one of the reasons the tribal society's in places like Afghanistan live in the Seventh century is the lack of this ability.
