Hunting & Fishing Hunting clothes- coverscents or smoke 'em

I have been making my own scent killer spray for years with good results but I have ran across more and more threads on archery talk forum about smoking your hunting clothes instead. I know if it works don't change it right but I'm always looking into new methods to do everything I do just to try new things.

I store my clothes in a tote with dry leaves in the bottom. I had 2 doe walk in arms reach of me last year and didn't even as much as look my way.

I store all of my hunting clothing in cedar chests.

I hate the strong smell of smoke. In MY opinion, it is not a natural smell of the woods all the time, and usually relates to danger, whether by natural fires or campfires.

Agreed^ Smoke sounds like a bad idea

I know it sound horrible but there are many people saying it's better then scent killer. I take hiders word for face value and was seeing your guys opinion. Thanks

I know a guy that swears by smoke. He has shot some big deer with a bow.

I keep all my hunting clothes hanging outside for a week or so, this is just a part of what I do to help me get a deer.
