Hunting hearing protection?

Re: Hunting hearing protection?

Most of my hunting is with a shotgun where I don't usually wear protection, but I've been giving THESE a look lately. With the plugs out you can still hear ambient noises and have enough protection to hopefully keep your ears from ringing. With the plugs in they function as normal in the ear hearing protection.

I use the Howard Leights when hunting. They are slim and don't interfere with my stock weld and are electronic so I can hear game and/or people talking.

Me too.
They work great.

Unfortunately, we can't use suppressors while hunting in Texas, or I would.

I bought a pair of the Howard Leight Impact Sports last year when they were on sale at Amazon.com. Bought them strictly for shooting, but after discovering how much they amplified the sounds around me I always take them with me when I go deer hunting now.

When you first try them be prepared to think a monster buck must be right next to you when it will actually only be a squirrel running around 50yds in the distance.
