Rifle Scopes Hunting rifle optic suggestions?!?

I am a Nightforce fan, and have several NF scopes on my tactical rigs, but am looking for other suggestions for a hunting rig.

The rifle is a Rem. Sendero 7STW.

Looking for a scope that can do it justice, that is adjustable for windage and elevation, but has knobs less protrusive than on my NF scopes. $$ is my least important factor.

Last year I had a NF mounted on this rig, and had MAJOR trouble getting it into and out of my Plano hard plastic 4 wheeler case mainly due to "knob protrusion"! It lives in a Starlight when hunting from my truck, but the starlight is too big for the wheeler.

The NF length and everything else fit just fine, just having 3 1" turrets made it tough to get in and out of the Plano -- so much so that getting it in or out was constantly turning my windage knob. NF wieght might be a small factor as well.

Looking for ideas for a scope that might fill this bill.

Or another thought is if anyone knows of a 4 wheeler type case that fits a NF beautifully.

Thanks in advance,

Dark

Swarovski Z6 3 x 18, 4I ret. Or, Premier has a new hunting scope. I have read about it, but have not seen one. Or, there is (was) a Zeiss Diavori 3-12 on the Optics for sale forum, an hour or so ago. Good hunting...

I'm putting a Leupold M2 4-12 x 40 AO on my 7mmRM. Leupold renamed this series the AR series, but it's a decent compromise for hunting glass.

I've been workn with shooting optics for 35 years (not just since the onset of "the hide" or internet shooting.

Guys hire me to mount scopes and zero their rifles. This week I worked with Zeiss (tracked the wrong way, mysteriously), Leopold VXIII (flawless), Trijicon. This was my first experience with Trijicon. I was impressed with everything about it.

I own American Weavers, have owned Nightforce, fired S&B, Swrovski, Premier. Except NF, most of these have cool glass but drop off on mechanical workings. To me, S&B is for daily use professionals, otherwise it has too many gadgets but I'm probably jealous of those who can afford one but I will probably never understand why they fetch the sum they do, except egoism. NF are just about right but not if they keep going up in price.

I'm not convinced the brand of scope matters as much as getting the type of reticle and magnification you prefer and that applies to your planned use, from an American company, then mounting the optic securely on the rifle, fitted to the shooter by eye relief, height, etc., by a professional like Louisiana Precision Rifles, for example.

Resist going nuts with variable magnification. Its unnecessary. Field glasses are for that purpose. So you can get a less expensive optical sight with fewer parts less likely to leak in moisture and fu a $25K safari. Get a scope. Practice. Practice. Dry fire at your neighbor(s). Shoot. Shoot. (at the range). All the time. Wear out the barrel every year. Then re-barrel. Change calipers if you want. Just shoot, dangit! Then, so many nuances will no longer really matter so much ;))

Check out a 10x US Optics. A Mark V 10X.
I guarantee hunters miss nice bucks screwing with the power adjustment. Don't do that. Get fixed.
I think you oughta get a mildot reticle. illuminated reticle is useless. A gimmick. Doesn't work unless you have ambient light. If there is ambient light illuminated reticle is not needed.

Y'all might think I'm in a rockn' chair smokn' a pipe. I'm not. Because of the global economic crises and our national one as well, I am done buying Japanese, Chinese, Tiawanese, Asian made goods. Especially "ese" made. Done. No more. Everyone here, nearly everyone, will claim to be oh so American patriotic yet buy Nightforce.....made in Japan! Horse Shit! Y'all go ahead. I'm good on that.
