good morning everyone. hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving.
so with the sales going on for Thanksgiving weekend, i want to pick a scope for a Weatherby Mark V chambered in 300 weatherby magnum. this will be a rifle that i will probably use for elk next year. two scopes i was looking at were

Tract Tekoa 4-16x44 MOA
Athlon Midas BTR 2.5-15x50 MIL

so the tract scope is in MOA which is what i am use to. the athlon is in MIL which i have never used but considering cause of the price. I want to try to make this a 500 yard rifle. i have the range to practice at. is there another scope you guys have seen that i should consider? thanks again and Happy Holidays

Don't be turned off by the mil vs. moa. If you have never used a mil scope, i can understand some reluctance but i will share my experience. I have many scopes in moa and when putting together my LR rifle i wanted a specific scope. Problem was i could only find that scope in mil, as no moa were available at the time. I was impatient so i ended up getting the mil version.
To my surprise, it was quick to get the hang of and since then...all the scopes i have purchased are now mil variant. Im not saying it is " the best ", or " the only way to go ", but being a long time moa guy, i have now changed my mind and prefer the mil variants.
As for the two units you asked about, i have no experience with either so i will leave that for others who have been behind them. Good luck with your choice, and happy turkey day to you as well.
